Building on our core platform technologies —especially surface treatment and finishing, analytical science, and reliability testing—we develop high value-added building materials and automotive components while concentrating our R&D capabilities on future growth areas.

We focus on developing advanced core technologies that enhance the performance, durability, and usability of our materials. This includes improving surface functionalities, refining manufacturing processes, and ensuring consistent quality across applications.

Reinforcing Basic Technology

We research functional surface-treatment technologies that enable easy maintenance and deliver distinctive visual and tactile qualities. We also develop digital printing technologies that bring customer-specific designs to life, and we provide analytical support for products across both R&D and manufacturing. In addition, our reliability evaluation capabilities help strengthen product quality and enhance product competitiveness.

Identifying and Developing Future Technology

We address major societal and industry challenges—such as preventing building fire incidents and reducing noise transmission between floors in multi-family housing—through technology development and validation. We also expand research into next-generation materials, such as electric vehicles and batteries, strengthening our readiness for future-oriented businesses.

Surface Materials

Surface Materials

Through research on organic–inorganic hybrid materials,
we develop engineered surfaces—including acrylic solid surfaces
and engineered stone—that offer differentiated
performance and diverse design options.

Flooring

Flooring

Based on a molecular-level understanding of polymer chemistry and physics,
we research eco-friendly materials and apply them to process and product
development. This includes developing environmentally responsible flooring
solutions designed to meet stringent safety and sustainability expectations.

Industrial Films

Industrial Films

We develop functional films for home appliances, automotive applications,
and interior and exterior building materials by integrating polymer
formulation, curing technologies for various energy sources, metallization
processes, and advanced process design.

Automotive Materials & Components

Automotive Materials & Components

We develop lightweight components using glass- and carbon-fiber–
reinforced polymer composites, supported by CAE (computer-aided
engineering) design and simulation. We also develop automotive interior
surface materials using eco-friendly approaches and premium, natural-
leather-like textures, leveraging calendering and extrusion technologies.

Windows & Doors Systems

Windows & Doors Systems

Using PVC, aluminum, and glass-based materials, we conduct
comprehensive research on energy-saving window and door systems.
Our work includes thermal and structural analysis, as well as design
optimization, to meet insulation, airtightness, and watertightness
requirements and structural strength standards.

Insulation Materials

Insulation Materials

We develop high-performance building insulation by precisely controlling
the cellular structure of polymer foam using flame-resistant polymer
materials and non-CFC hydrocarbon blowing agents—
delivering world-class thermal insulation performance.
