HIMACS: IMM Cologne - International Furnishing Show 2014

LG Hausys provides an atmospheric experience at Imm

The International Furnishing Show opened its gates on 13 January 2014 and LG Hausys, in cooperation with exhibiting partners, presented the latest colours and innovations of its HIMACS acrylic stone. At the stand, which was entirely made of HIMACS, show visitors could see for themselves how this high-quality material can be used for perfect interior furnishing. The stand was designed in cooperation with designers Dölker + Voges who presented their “maccaron” furniture collection for the first time at imm Cologne.

The designers, who specialise in fitting out yachts, have been using the material for the interior design of those luxurious floating spaces for many years. For their new “maccaron” furniture collection, Felix Dölker and Robert Voges used their expertise to provide optimal space utilization, using a top-quality material and perfect processing to come up with “maccaron”, a collection displaying the best qualities of timeless beauty and functionality.

Even the design of the exhibition stand was a tribute to the cube. A spacious cuboid awaited visitors, who could step inside to take a break from the show in the ambience of this fascinating acrylic stone. Using a range of colour moods, a light show reflected the translucency of HIMACS. In addition to offering this oasis, the stand was also a place for exchange: The exhibitors invited visitors to join them at a sculptured HIMACS table resembling the French macaron cookie (which refers to the furniture collection) to talk about the use of HIMACS. The acrylic stone has been used successfully in interior design for many years around the globe. This homogenous solid surface requires little maintenance; it is non-porous and offers the advantages of – as demonstrated in the arched rear wall of the exhibition stand – optically seamless joints and thermoplastic mouldability.
