HIMACS: Architect@Work

Architect @ Work, HIMACS plays with perception

On 22 & 23 September, HIMACS will showcase itself at the Paris chapter of Architect@work - the ideal venue for innovation in architecture and design. For this edition HIMACS will present a scenography designed by the famous Dutch interior architecture studio i29, in which 2D and 3D shapes will be present side by side.    The large number of intrinsic qualities of this solid surface make it the ideal material for interior and exterior architectural applications such as wall coverings, stairs, kitchen counters, bathrooms, furniture, decorative objects and even façades.  Its unlimited creation possibilities inspire architects and designers worldwide: Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel, Rafael Moneo, Karim Rashid, David Chipperfield and, more recently, Marcel Wanders have joined the HI MACS® family to bring fabulous projects to life.    For this occasion and through this design, i29 wished to showcase the possibilities and characteristics of HI MACS® such as its finish without visible joints, translucence and CNC cutting. This is where we see the full magic of HIMACS unfold as it enables us to push back the limits of creativity and makes the creation both pleasant and enthralling! With an abstract staging of lines, volumes and shadows, a simple design as it appears at first glance gives visitors an optical effect enabling them to play with their perception. The concept actually displays a graphical composition of two-dimensional objects merging with 3-dimensional volumes of similar sizes and shapes. Based on this view, the flat surfaces in HIMACS, developed in different tones, seem to become volumes and vice-versa. A thin black line enhances the contours and underlines the possibilities of assimilation between the different surfaces and colour combinations. This stand, created in partnership with Baars & Bloemhoff - HIMACS distributor for the Netherlands - to launch the new HIMACS LUCIA colours created in collaboration with Marcel Wanders, received the "Best In Show" award at the recent Design District 2016.   ARCHITECT@WORK 22 & 23 september Paris Event Center 20 av.
