The family that owns this 210 m² apartment envisioned the way such luminosity could play a leading role in their apartment, in a perfect harmony between practicality and aesthetics. Their wish was to inhabit a warm and generous home, decorated with a palette of neutral tones and subtle hues that would convey a sense of calm and spaciousness. Among their priorities was an open-plan concept that favoured fluidity and communication between zones and rooms, creating the optimum environment to enjoy with family and friends.

In response to these needs, every corner of the penthouse has been designed with particular emphasis on radiance and warmth. Expansive glass surfaces bathe the space in reflected illumination, while natural tones in the comfortable furnishings and the warm wood finishes in the kitchen and living area offer an inviting ambience.

Against this neutral canvas, the refinement of the architectural elements, in a discreet balance of curves and linear geometry, becomes refreshingly clear. This welcoming yet minimalist approach reinforces the feeling of airiness and tranquillity.

The open concept that articulates this design pays no heed to passing trends, but rather reflects a sympathetic understanding of everyday life. The kitchen, dining room and living room are integrated into a single interconnected environment, where movement flows naturally and each zone enhances the functionality of the others.

The kitchen: a space designed for sharing

The kitchen forms the heart of a layout designed for harmonious coexistence. The worktop, central island and wall cladding are made of HIMACS in Aurora Daymoon, chosen for its sleek beauty and ability to create continuous, homogeneous surfaces with no visible joints.

One end of the island is curved, introducing an organic feel that enhances the fluidity of the space and subtly contrasts with the predominantly straight lines of the kitchen. The sink, also made of HIMACS, is seamlessly integrated to the worktop, emphasising the purity and practicality of the design.

“HIMACS has proved to be the ideal solution to this technical and aesthetic challenge, elegantly imitating the nuances of natural materials without resorting to repetitive patterns", notes the architectural studio responsible for the project.

The judicious use of darker details and accents, together with the wood finishes of the cabinets and other storage elements, makes a pleasing contrast to the lightness of the solid surface. The kitchen thus acts as a hub and focal point for this highly sociable arrangement of living zones.

The application of HIMACS for further surfaces in the space, such as the television cabinet, enhances the decorative coherence, offering a unifying motif to the architectural language of the apartment.

Bathroom: tactile and sophisticated minimalism

In the bathroom, HIMACS once again takes centre stage with a bespoke washbasin made entirely from the high-performance material. Its smooth, non-porous and homogeneous surface offers an impeccable finish that is both robust and pleasing to the eye and the touch.

This visual continuity, together with its excellent resistance to humidity, makes it an ideal solution for wet areas, such as the bathroom, where functionality and aesthetics must go hand in hand. Inherently hygienic, easy to clean and maintain, HIMACS retains its beauty over time.

The soft Aurora Daymoon shade, from the Aurora & Marmo collection, evokes the quiet elegance of natural marble, adding to the sense of tranquillity that characterises this home.
